out of this cast iron piece that went to an antique heater, I ripped apart
and made a manel out of a LONG time ago. I want to make a mold
out of the applique, I'm hoping I can make some out of the applique's
that are on the cast iron part I used to make my mantel. Now for some
isea's... I want to make something out of this piece after I make some
molds. It's pretty heavy and only has about 1 3/4 inches from the front
to the back. I was thinking of flipping it up side down and attaching
it to an old piece of wood and making it a mail holder for a front porch.
I think it would be so cute! Does anyone have any other idea's what
to make out of it? Here are the pictures:
The cast iron piece above went right under the
cast iron piece on the mantel, right under where
you see the bows and ribbon.
I know someone has an idea or two?

I'm doing good thanks for stopping by. Have you considered doing plaster of paris in it? I would think that would work. I don't know much about it but I have seen a few blogs mention doing that to make molds. Might check into it.Traci
Thanks Traci... I can't believe I didn't think of google! I google everything.
Love that cast-iron piece! It would be great fun to work with it. I love your mail-holder idea. Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting!
Thanks Jo,
That's the only thing I can think of to where it can be used. I found out how to make the molds! I will be doing that first.
I know there is a kit at Michael's that you can make molds with. I have never used one, but Thespa over at Vintiquities Workshop has made molds with some of their kits. Good luck, that is beautiful!
